Selected for the contact, temperature and movement
Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
A custom rubber molded plug should follow the locating features of the opening it closes. A shoulder, groove or change in bore can determine where the plug seats, so the full internal geometry should be considered before choosing the exposed head and body length.
Structure, dimensions, hardness, material and color can be customized. Select the compound for the contact medium and service conditions, and define the required removal access if the closure will be serviced. The visible face should complement a correct retained fit rather than hide a body that does not reach its intended seat.
Trial the plug in the finished mating part and inspect its position after representative handling. If it stops unexpectedly, compare the hidden geometry before applying more force. During replacement, check the opening and removed plug together for local damage or changes in shape. Use the designated design dimensions to produce the new component so a worn part's distortion is not carried into the replacement profile.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A shoulder, groove or change in bore can determine where the plug seats, so the full internal geometry should be considered before choosing the exposed head and body length. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
