Product Overview

A Capacitive touch keypad provides a silicone interface for electronic touch controls. The visible targets should align with the sensing areas beneath them, and the intervening material arrangement must remain consistent with the system design. This type of input should be evaluated as a complete layer and electronics combination rather than treated as a rubber key that simply closes a contact.

Establish the sensor positions and the installed keypad thickness before fixing the visible layout. A relocated label or changed profile can affect where users touch relative to the electronics. Keep the molded part supported without bowing or shifting as the enclosure is assembled.

Trial representative interactions on the completed device. Include touches near the usable edges of each target and movements between neighboring controls, checking that the intended function is selected. Evaluate any specific moisture, hand covering or cleaning conditions only where the system is intended to support them.

During service, restore the keypad's location and layer spacing rather than pressing it into an approximate position. Remove trapped material from the seating area before closure. A damaged or distorted part should be replaced with the evaluated construction, because a seemingly minor difference in the interface can change the relationship that was tested with the electronics.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Select silicone firmness with the capacitive sensing layer and supported face thickness; the touch surface must remain positioned over its sensing targets.
Custom dimensions
Establish the sensor positions and the installed keypad thickness before fixing the visible layout.
Fit & assembly
Keep the molded part supported without bowing or shifting as the enclosure is assembled.
Use & inspection
A damaged or distorted part should be replaced with the evaluated construction, because a seemingly minor difference in the interface can change the relationship that was tested with the electronics.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
