Product Overview

A custom HNBR fuel tank seal grommet forms a rubber interface at a tank opening. The selected profile must match the mating component and tank seat, while the compound must suit the particular fuel and operating exposure of the system.

Define the fuel composition, expected temperature and contact conditions when selecting the material. The fit also needs to account for the finished tank opening and the surface that occupies the bore. ETOL can customize dimensions, hardness and color around the required interface.

Keep the tank seat and mating part free of burrs or damage that could score the rubber during installation. Follow the system's prescribed service and assembly procedure, using compatible installation methods rather than adding an unapproved lubricant to make a tight part easier to insert.

The grommet should reach its designed position without a lip rolling inward or the bore being forced to one side. Support the connected component as specified so its weight and movement do not distort the tank entry. Assess sealing on the complete system under its required conditions before returning it to operation.

During inspection, address any sign of leakage or changed rubber fit through the system's service procedure. Remove a damaged component carefully and inspect the mating surfaces before fitting a replacement. A new seal should not be used to hide a distorted opening or compensate for an incorrectly aligned connection.

Material options
Custom rubber compound and color, selected for the contact conditions and required geometry.
Hardness range
30–90 Shore A for rubber. Assess the grade against this fit requirement: Support the connected component as specified so its weight and movement do not distort the tank entry.
Custom profile & fit
The selected profile must match the mating component and tank seat, while the compound must suit the particular fuel and operating exposure of the system.
Assembly considerations
Keep the tank seat and mating part free of burrs or damage that could score the rubber during installation.
Design check
Define the fuel composition, expected temperature and contact conditions when selecting the material.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
