A Half inch rubber grommet needs its nominal size reference connected to the actual molded profile before fit is determined. Half an inch is 12.7 mm, but that figure could describe only one feature of an entry. The oblong form also needs a length, width, end shape and mounting groove suited to the panel.
Compare the opening as a complete outline rather than treating it as a circular hole with a single diameter. The cable passage may have different proportions from the outer retaining perimeter. ETOL can customize the dimensions, compound, hardness and color around the intended geometry.
Include the finished panel thickness and surrounding flange clearance in the comparison. A closely spaced neighboring feature may prevent the longer side from resting flat even when the hole itself is correct. The cable route should also leave the lead inside the protected passage without loading only one end.
Fit the rubber while the opening remains accessible and check both curved ends after the cable is threaded. Keep units consistent when comparing inch-based and metric components. If a replacement appears close but requires substantial stretching at an end, review the profile rather than forcing the nominal size match. Recheck seating after the wiring supports determine the cable's final direction.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The oblong form also needs a length, width, end shape and mounting groove suited to the panel. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
