Rubber strain relief at a cable entry should guide the lead while preserving the intended panel and cable contacts. A flexible projecting section can help manage the transition, but its shape must suit the directions in which the lead will actually move.
Consider ordinary handling as well as the resting position. A cable may be lifted to access a connector or pushed aside while another component is serviced. Check whether that motion levers the mounting flange away from the panel instead of bending through the intended flexible area.
ETOL can tailor the structure, material, dimensions, color and hardness. Define the pulling and bending requirements for the complete assembly along with any moisture-exclusion duty. These functions should be assessed together because changing the cable position can also change its contact with the rubber.
Fit the entry without initial cable tension and inspect it after the cable supports are secured. Move the lead slowly through the expected handling directions, watching for a sharp fold, a twisted sleeve or a lifting lip. During disconnection, handle the connector rather than pulling on the rubber-covered transition. If the assembly is rerouted later, repeat the movement check before relying on the original entry arrangement.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A flexible projecting section can help manage the transition, but its shape must suit the directions in which the lead will actually move. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
