Rubber plugs for engine assemblies should be selected for their specific location and closure role. An opening used during servicing may face different fluids, temperature, and pressure from an external covered feature. The plug or cap needs a complete fit and compound specification suited to that position rather than a general engine association.
Check the mating diameter, usable depth, and retaining geometry. Include removal access after nearby components are installed. If the part is intended to keep water out, assess that contact on the finished assembly under the relevant exposure; a dust cover or temporary blank is not automatically a pressure closure.
Install with the equipment in its appropriate service condition and keep the contact surfaces clean. Verify the intended seat without forcing the rubber against an obstruction. During removal, inspect for cuts, hardening, or permanent deformation and check the receiving feature for damage. Preserve the selected profile and material when replacing the part so the engine location returns to its intended configuration.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. An opening used during servicing may face different fluids, temperature, and pressure from an external covered feature. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
