A silicone dust cap should cover the intended exposed region without pressing against features that need clearance inside it. Its usable depth is therefore as important as the opening size. A cap that feels secure at the entrance may still be resting against a connector tip or other internal feature before its contact edge reaches the intended seat.
Compare the internal profile with the complete mating component, including shoulders and recesses. Leave an accessible handling area for removal and check that the outside wall does not obstruct nearby parts. Select the silicone configuration around the environment and cleaning exposure at that location.
Fit gently in line with the component and inspect the seating boundary. Keep the cap clean before refitting so trapped dust is not carried onto the protected area. During reuse, check for a stretched opening, torn edge, or damage inside the closed end. Any required sealing or enclosure protection should be assessed on the completed connection rather than inferred from the presence of a removable rubber cover.

Identify key dimensions, mating surfaces and quantity
Agree the compound and manufacturing approach
Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly
Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
