Silicone rubber hole plugs in an 8 mm nominal option should be matched to the feature represented by that size in the selected design. The inserting section, exposed head, and retaining detail can each have different dimensions. Compare the complete profile with the actual opening before treating the nominal size as a ready fit.
Check the hole depth and edge condition alongside its diameter. A sharp entrance can cut the silicone during insertion, while insufficient depth can prevent the head from reaching its intended seat. For a water sealing application, evaluate contact and retention with the complete closure under the relevant exposure.
Press the black stopper into position without folding its edge. Leave the intended handling area accessible so it can be removed without a sharp tool against the rubber. Inspect the contact band after servicing and keep spare plugs free of dirt. If the opening has changed through damage or finishing work, reassess the fit rather than forcing the same nominal size into an altered seat.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A sharp entrance can cut the silicone during insertion, while insufficient depth can prevent the head from reaching its intended seat. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
