Match the attachment and installation method
Custom 12mm rubber plugs close industrial equipment openings with a profile suited to the receiving part. The nominal size provides a useful reference, but the stem length, head dimensions, and retaining geometry determine the complete fit. Establish which feature the size relates to before matching the plug to an opening.
Industrial handling can expose a closure to repeated insertion, cleaning, or contact with nearby components. Identify where rubbing actually occurs and keep that contact away from thin retaining edges where possible. The receiving hole should have a finished edge, and the plug should reach its seat without scraping across a burr or rough internal feature.
Material and hardness can be customized for the local operating environment. Assess wear with the actual installation and removal method rather than assigning a general service life from the rubber name. During maintenance, inspect the body beneath the visible head and look for a changed seating position. Replacing a worn part should restore the intended geometry, not simply add a tighter plug to an opening whose edge or shape has been damaged.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The nominal size provides a useful reference, but the stem length, head dimensions, and retaining geometry determine the complete fit. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
