Silicone resistance bands should be developed for the intended extension and force within their particular application. The relaxed dimensions, section shape and formulation determine how the band behaves when stretched. A soft material description does not establish a resistance level or an unlimited extension range.
Custom dimensions, hardness and color allow the band to follow the design. Define how it is held or attached and ensure those contact surfaces do not cut into the silicone. If the application involves elevated temperature, evaluate the selected formulation under the actual exposure and extension conditions together.
Inspect the band before use for cuts, surface damage or lasting deformation, particularly at attachment areas. The complete product should be evaluated for its intended use rather than assigning exercise or load capability from appearance alone. Keep the band away from unprepared sharp edges and use a compatible cleaning method. If repeated stretching damages one region, review the contact geometry and working extension before simply choosing a thicker band to increase resistance.
