Small mushroom silicone rubber plugs cover openings with a rounded head above the inserted section. The compact head needs enough clearance to be handled or removed through the method intended by the assembly. If the surrounding surface hides the head's edge, routine access can become difficult even when the plug fits the hole.
Compare the insertion diameter and length with the receiving opening, then check how much of the rounded head remains accessible after seating. Nearby covers should not continually press the plug farther inward or rub against its visible surface. The selected material and geometry need evaluation for the actual closure duty.
Keep sharp tools away from the head and its narrow transition to the stem. Damage in this area can make a small plug difficult to remove intact. During fitting, confirm that the head sits evenly rather than concealing a folded insertion section. Replace a torn or distorted part with the intended size instead of using additional force to make an approximate plug occupy the same opening.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
