Product Overview

An accordion bellows cover uses a series of folds to cover an area whose length changes during movement. As the assembly moves, the folds open or close instead of requiring a straight wall to stretch by the full distance. The cover acts as a dust boot around the protected region, with custom dimensions and material options available.

Start with the two attachment positions at both ends of travel. The cover needs enough extension for the open position and sufficient space for its folded shape when compressed. Check the outside of the folds as well as the internal clearance around the moving component. A nearby bracket can touch the cover only at one point in the motion and be missed by a static inspection.

ETOL can customize size, color and compound. These choices should suit the surrounding dirt, fluids and temperatures, while the fold geometry should suit the movement. Align the ends so the cover does not have to twist every time the mechanism operates.

Before regular use, move the fitted assembly through its intended range and watch for rubbing, trapped folds and uneven extension. Keep accumulated debris from packing between the folds. During maintenance, release the end attachments before removing the cover instead of pulling on the accordion wall. Inspect the fold roots carefully, where a small cut may be hidden until the part extends.

Material options
Rubber compound options, customized alongside the profile and contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Solid rubber options: 30–90 Shore A. The cover needs enough extension for the open position and sufficient space for its folded shape when compressed.
Custom geometry
Check the outside of the folds as well as the internal clearance around the moving component.
Fit evaluation
Inspect the fold roots carefully, where a small cut may be hidden until the part extends.
Color & OEM
Custom colors; identification clear of folds and end connections.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
