A flat rubber plug can close an opening where a low exposed face suits the surrounding assembly. Custom size, material, hardness, and color allow the inserted section and visible surface to be developed together. The low profile should still leave a practical way to remove the plug where access is required.
Check the opening depth and any internal feature that controls the seated position. The face should reach its intended location without the body stopping early behind it. Nearby covers or moving components may limit how far the plug can project above the surface.
Select the compound for the actual temperature and contact conditions. Fit the plug squarely and inspect its edge for folding or a raised section. For removal, use the intended handling method rather than piercing the flat face or scraping beneath it with a sharp tool. During care, keep the contact area free of debris and replace a plug that no longer retains its shape. Preserve both the inserted profile and exposed height when selecting the replacement.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
