Match the attachment and installation method
Custom rubber seal stoppers combine a closure profile with an exterior that suits the surrounding assembly. The visible portion can be round, square or specially shaped while the contacting section follows the opening it must close. Material, color and molded identification can be specified as part of the design.
Start with the sealing land: the surface inside or around the opening that will contact the rubber. Its length and condition influence how the stopper sits, whereas the outer cover determines access and appearance. Keeping these two functions separate helps avoid a large decorative head that touches nearby features before the closure is fully seated. It also allows sufficient grip without adding unnecessary material inside the opening.
For a component removed during maintenance, allow fingers to approach the exposed edge in the installed assembly. Check the selected compound against contact fluids and cleaning agents. After cleaning, remove trapped residue from recesses before refitting the part. A stopper that sits unevenly should be inspected for interference or debris rather than pushed further into place.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. Start with the sealing land: the surface inside or around the opening that will contact the rubber. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
