Product Overview

A silicone button keypad with carbon pills combines a flexible key surface with conductive contact elements beneath the keys. The custom layout should align those elements with the matching circuit pattern in the finished device. Size, color, and molded geometry can be developed around the enclosure and its internal supports.

The locating arrangement needs to control the keypad across the full array. A key near the main locator may be well positioned while one farther away can shift if the sheet is not supported appropriately. Review the relationship between each key, its carbon pill, and the circuit contact area with the enclosure secured. The intended travel should bring the contact into engagement without leaving it compressed at rest.

Presses made near a key edge are useful for checking the assembled movement. They should not cause the contact to miss its intended area or hold an adjacent key down. The rubber also needs to return freely after the finger is removed. These details are established by the keypad and circuit assembly together.

Protect the carbon contact surfaces from handling residue and loose particles during installation. Keep the underside clean without scraping it with a sharp tool. If switching becomes inconsistent, inspect alignment, free return, and the condition of the contact area as part of the complete control assembly.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. The intended travel should bring the contact into engagement without leaving it compressed at rest.
Custom dimensions
A key near the main locator may be well positioned while one farther away can shift if the sheet is not supported appropriately.
Fit & assembly
If switching becomes inconsistent, inspect alignment, free return, and the condition of the contact area as part of the complete control assembly.
Use & inspection
Protect the carbon contact surfaces from handling residue and loose particles during installation.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
