A custom molded cable dustproof grommet protects the panel edge and provides a fitted interface around the cable route. The profile should minimize unnecessary gaps and recesses at the intended contact area while remaining suitable for installation. Size, material and color can be selected for the enclosure and cable.
Check where dust is likely to settle around the entry. A deep exposed recess can hide debris that is pushed inward when the cable moves or is serviced. Keep the retained lip seated and arrange the cable so it does not repeatedly open one side of the passage. Evaluate any required exclusion with the complete entry rather than the rubber part alone. During cleaning, remove debris from the outside before withdrawing the cable or liner. Inspect the groove and inside contact for trapped particles before reassembly. If the grommet is damaged during removal, replace it instead of using the cable to hold a torn section against the panel. Restore the intended supports so the cleaned entry returns to its evaluated position.
