Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
A silicone rubber stopper plug intended for a waterproof closure should be developed around the actual receiving opening. The body profile, seating depth and retention determine where contact forms. A plug that feels tight during insertion may still leave a local gap if the opening is uneven or the rubber is folded.
Custom dimensions, material, hardness and color allow the part to match the assembly. Define the water exposure, temperature and handling conditions before evaluating the selected silicone. The complete closure needs assessment under those conditions, including any movement that can disturb the seat.
Clean the mating surfaces before fitting and check that the plug reaches its intended position without excessive force. Inspect the visible perimeter and any accessible hidden contact region. During reuse, look for cuts, particles or lasting deformation before reinsertion. If water entry recurs at one location, review the local opening geometry and alignment rather than simply choosing a larger plug. The removal method should preserve the sealing surface instead of relying on a sharp tool against the rubber.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The body profile, seating depth and retention determine where contact forms. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
