A solid conical butyl rubber vial stopper uses a tapered body to engage the vial opening. The taper allows the contact diameter to change with insertion depth, making the relationship between the opening and the stopper profile central to the fit. Silicone plug variants can be considered separately where that material suits the intended closure conditions.
Define the small end, large end, and usable tapered length together. Two stoppers with similar maximum diameters can seat at different heights if their taper angles differ. The upper portion must remain suitable for the planned handling or retaining arrangement, and the stopper should not be driven deeper merely to make its exposed height resemble another version.
For vial use, assess the material against the contents and the processing sequence as well as the mechanical fit. Keep the solid body intact and use it according to the intended closure design; adding a hole changes the contact and use conditions. Insert the stopper straight into a clean opening, then evaluate the retained position with the rest of the bottle closure assembled. Inspect the tapered surface for damage before any permitted reuse.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The taper allows the contact diameter to change with insertion depth, making the relationship between the opening and the stopper profile central to the fit. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
