Match the attachment and installation method
Small rubber hole plugs used near heat should be selected for the actual temperature at the opening, including cooldown and repeated operation. A compact closure has little room for a distorted edge or trapped particle, so the contact geometry needs to remain well controlled. The rubber formulation and the mating component should be assessed together under the relevant cycle.
Define the inserting dimensions, depth, and accessible handling area. Check that neighboring hardware does not press the plug deeper when it is assembled. A small opening with a sharp entrance should be corrected before fitting so the rubber is not cut during insertion.
Seat the plug without force beyond its intended position. Where the application requires sealing, evaluate the complete closure under the actual exposure and pressure direction. During servicing, inspect for hardening, cuts, or persistent shape change before reuse. Replace the specified profile rather than choosing a larger plug to compensate for contact that has changed because of temperature or damage to the surrounding opening.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A compact closure has little room for a distorted edge or trapped particle, so the contact geometry needs to remain well controlled. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
