A silicone stopper intended for a heated environment needs a formulation suited to the temperature and duration at its working contact. The condition of the mating opening also matters: a hot surrounding component may expose the stopper differently from warm air around an otherwise cool assembly.
Choose the plug profile around the opening size, insertion depth, and method of removal. Thermal conditions should be assessed together with the fit rather than treated as a separate label. If the closure is compressed continuously, evaluate its seated behavior through the relevant operating cycle and after cooling.
Do not infer a universal temperature or pressure rating from the heat-resistant description. Assess any required sealing function with the actual material and mating part under the intended conditions. Before reuse, inspect the contact region for cuts, lasting distortion, or changes in flexibility, and make sure the opening is clear of residue. A stopper that still fits by hand may have changed enough to affect its original seating or removal behavior.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A silicone stopper intended for a heated environment needs a formulation suited to the temperature and duration at its working contact. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
