A custom neoprene damper forms a compliant contact or support element within an automotive assembly. Silicone and other rubber choices are also available within the custom range, each requiring selection for the intended location. The useful configuration combines the right engagement shape with a compound suited to the surrounding conditions.
Automotive mounting positions can expose different parts of the damper to heat, fluids, and outside contamination. Consider the substances reaching the rubber during operation and maintenance, not only the clean assembly condition. The body should also remain clear of neighboring edges through the movement expected at that location.
The mounting seat must retain the part without squeezing every section that is intended to flex. Check the actual assembled position after the surrounding hardware is secured. During replacement, compare the locating details as carefully as the visible outer face. A damper with a similar silhouette may sit at a different depth or load a different area. Uneven wear can indicate that the adjoining components have shifted and need attention alongside the rubber.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The useful configuration combines the right engagement shape with a compound suited to the surrounding conditions. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
