A pharmaceutical butyl rubber stopper belongs to a defined container-closure configuration. Replacement control needs to preserve that configuration, including compound, molded profile, and the related container finish. Similar size or color should not be used as the sole basis for substituting another stopper during a packaging change.
Identify the working contact and any features used by the closure assembly process. A change to the container rim or adjoining hardware can alter how the stopper is retained even when the nominal mouth diameter remains the same. Evaluate the revised combination before carrying over the existing molded component.
The formulation must suit the contents, contact duration, and processing conditions required for the finished product. Butyl rubber alone does not establish sterility or pharmaceutical suitability. Keep components identified and protected through the applicable handling process so that physically similar versions are not mixed. If fit or condition changes, investigate the complete combination rather than modifying an individual stopper to make it seat. That approach preserves the relationship between material selection, container geometry, and the process used to establish suitability.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A change to the container rim or adjoining hardware can alter how the stopper is retained even when the nominal mouth diameter remains the same. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
