A molded SBR cable grommet can be customized for an opening that needs a rubber protective or cushioning interface. The nonstandard shape should be developed around the cable route and the surfaces that retain the part. The selected compound and geometry should suit the working condition rather than an approximate visual match.
Identify which region is fixed by the panel and which region should accommodate small cable movements. Excessive clamping can restrict that flexibility, while an oversized mounting fit can allow the whole grommet to rock. Custom outline, dimensions and color can follow the required installation. Fit the part with the actual cable and supports in place, then check for concentrated contact at a corner or transition. During inspection, distinguish wear on the inner passage from damage at the mounting groove. Those patterns can point to different causes. Correct rough edges, misalignment or an unsuitable route before replacing the rubber, so the next molded part can work in the intended retained position.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The nonstandard shape should be developed around the cable route and the surfaces that retain the part. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
