A textured hard rubber grip handle uses a molded surface pattern to shape the hand contact. The texture should suit where fingers and palm rest, rather than being distributed only for appearance. Its depth and spacing also affect how easily dirt can be removed after use.
Custom dimensions, material and color can be developed for the OEM handle. Check the texture with the grip installed on its support, including normal hand movement and any gloves used in the application. Surface feel should be evaluated under representative conditions rather than assumed from the pattern's visual roughness.
The bore and retention method must keep the grip from rotating or sliding. A pronounced surface pattern cannot compensate for movement between the rubber and handle. During care, clean residue from the texture using a compatible process and inspect high contact areas for wear. If the pattern becomes uncomfortable at a particular edge, review the outside profile and hand clearance. The final design should coordinate texture, grip shape and attachment as one usable handle arrangement.
