Product Overview

A rubber dock bumper is a custom impact contact component whose dimensions and material need to follow the actual installation. A dock contact arrangement and a vehicle suspension buffer have different load paths, movement and retention requirements. Each application should have a separately developed part configuration.

ETOL offers custom material, dimensions, hardness and color. Define the approaching surface, direction of force and available deformation space. The mounting structure must support the bumper and control the intended movement; a large rubber body does not by itself establish an impact capacity.

For a vehicle suspension application, assess the buffer within the specific suspension assembly, including the travel limits and adjacent clearances. For a dock installation, evaluate the actual contact geometry and supporting structure. The compound should suit the environment and repeated loading conditions of the selected use.

Inspect the installed part for uneven contact, splitting or displacement after representative operation. Permanent deformation can change the point at which contact begins. If damage repeatedly occurs at one edge, review alignment and support before changing only hardness or thickness. Maintain the intended mounting hardware and part configuration when replacing a worn component.

Material options
Custom rubber compound and color, selected for the contact conditions and required geometry.
Hardness range
30–90 Shore A for rubber. Assess the grade against this fit requirement: A dock contact arrangement and a vehicle suspension buffer have different load paths, movement and retention requirements.
Custom profile & fit
For a dock installation, evaluate the actual contact geometry and supporting structure.
Assembly considerations
Inspect the installed part for uneven contact, splitting or displacement after representative operation.
Design check
For a vehicle suspension application, assess the buffer within the specific suspension assembly, including the travel limits and adjacent clearances.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
