Custom rubber grommet kits bring together grommets selected for the openings and routed items in an assembly. The useful distinction between sizes is the combination of panel opening, panel thickness, and cable or tube profile. Two grommets with similar outside diameters may still belong in different positions if their retaining grooves or center openings differ.
For each location, establish how the grommet seats in the panel and how the routed item passes through it. Compression at the outer fit can influence the center opening, so the fit should be assessed with both interfaces engaged. Check the panel edge for burrs before installing the rubber, and confirm that the retaining section is seated around the entire opening.
A kit intended for repeated assembly work benefits from clear separation of the selected versions. The installer should not have to stretch a nearly matching grommet into a position meant for another size. Consider the order in which connectors and cables are assembled as well, since a completed connector may not pass through the chosen center opening.
Material options should match the actual environment. Where the finished equipment has flame performance requirements, the selected compound and complete installation need assessment against those requirements; a generic grommet name does not establish fireproof behavior. During inspection, check both the cable contact area and the panel retaining edge for cuts or displacement.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Two grommets with similar outside diameters may still belong in different positions if their retaining grooves or center openings differ. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
