A self adhesive rubber pad combines a rubber contact surface with an adhesive attachment to the product. The pad outline should fit the available bonding area, while the adhesive system needs to suit that area's material and finish. A secure bond depends on more than the visible size of the pad.
Custom dimensions, silicone or other selected rubber material, hardness and color can be developed for the application. Define the intended load direction and exposure so the rubber and adhesive are evaluated together. A pad used mainly in compression may experience different demands from one that is dragged sideways during movement.
Prepare the receiving surface using a method appropriate to the substrate and selected adhesive. Position the pad without trapping debris or touching the bond area unnecessarily, then follow the chosen adhesive's application conditions. Check that the full outline remains supported. During maintenance, inspect for edge lifting and material caught underneath. If a pad repeatedly peels at one corner, review placement and the direction of contact before choosing a larger pad to cover the same problem.
