A split wire grommet offers an assembly route around a compatible existing lead, subject to the specified split geometry. This can be relevant where passing a complete ring over a fixed connector is impractical. The split still needs to close and locate as intended once the part is seated.
Review the opening, panel thickness and harness position before choosing the profile. Identify how the cable enters the split and whether nearby hardware leaves enough access for fitting. The material options named for the product should be selected for the actual vehicle location rather than treated as interchangeable formulations.
During installation, open the part only as required by its design and keep the split edges free of debris. Check that the cable has not folded one edge underneath the other. After seating, inspect the retaining flange and the split while the harness rests in its normal route.
If sealing is required, evaluate the assembled split interface along with the cable and panel contacts. Do not assume that a split version behaves identically to a closed ring. During maintenance, inspect for tearing at the ends of the split and replace a damaged component instead of enlarging the opening further to make it easier to fit.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. If sealing is required, evaluate the assembled split interface along with the cable and panel contacts. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
