Product Overview

A silicone button keypad for a toy uses conductive carbon pills underneath its keys to contact the matching circuit areas. The molded key geometry and board layout should keep every pill aligned throughout the intended press and release motion.

ETOL can customize the part's shape and dimensions for the product. Define the locating features and support under the circuit board before evaluating the keypad. A board that moves during a loose bench check can change the apparent travel and obscure an incorrect resting clearance.

Check the complete toy assembly for its required input behavior and component retention. The silicone part should remain located without a thin web being stretched around an obstruction. Inspect center and edge presses and confirm that the contacts separate as intended when the key returns.

Include the expected combinations of key presses in that assessment. Pressing one key can pull on a shared molded region, so the adjacent pills should remain in their intended resting positions unless those inputs are also being operated. The circuit response should correspond with the mechanical behavior observed in the assembled product.

During assembly, protect the pill surfaces from dust, adhesive and handling residue. Keep sharp tools away from the flexible junctions. If service is permitted for the finished product, use its specified method and replace damaged components rather than scraping or coating the contact pills to alter their response. The complete toy requires its own evaluation for the intended users and use conditions with the selected keypad fitted.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. The molded key geometry and board layout should keep every pill aligned throughout the intended press and release motion.
Custom dimensions
ETOL can customize the part's shape and dimensions for the product.
Fit & assembly
Check the complete toy assembly for its required input behavior and component retention.
Use & inspection
If service is permitted for the finished product, use its specified method and replace damaged components rather than scraping or coating the contact pills to alter their response.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
