Heat resistant silicone plugs close suitably matched openings in applications where the selected silicone formulation can accommodate the thermal conditions. The relevant temperature is the exposure at the plug itself, including heating duration and the way the surrounding part transfers heat. A generic silicone designation does not establish a universal temperature limit.
Choose the insertion profile around the opening and its required engagement depth. Heating can affect both the receiving part and the rubber fit, so evaluate the plug through the actual process cycle rather than judging only a room-temperature insertion. Any sealing or pressure requirement needs separate consideration within that arrangement.
