Product Overview

A custom silicone band should be developed around the distance or circumference it spans in use. Width, thickness and overall size determine how the band fits the intended arrangement, while the finished compound influences its response to extension. Select these features together rather than relying on a general description of tensile properties.

Check the band in both its relaxed and working positions. It should not be stretched across a sharp edge or twisted as it reaches its intended location. Consider the way it is installed and removed, since those actions may create a different extension from normal service.

Choose the material and color for the contact surfaces and environmental conditions. Evaluate the finished band under the intended use instead of assuming a universal stretch limit. During inspection, look for nicks along the edges and regions that no longer return to their original shape. A damaged band should be replaced, not shortened or knotted to recover tension. Keep replacement dimensions associated with the application so similar looking bands are not treated as interchangeable.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Width, thickness and overall size determine how the band fits the intended arrangement, while the finished compound influences its response to extension.
Custom dimensions

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
