Match the attachment and installation method
An EPDM rubber cap can be customized for an exposed round feature, with SBR, NBR and silicone also available as material choices in the product range. Select the particular compound for the location's temperature, fluids and environmental exposure. These materials should not be treated as interchangeable simply because a cap has the same shape.
The receiving diameter, available engagement length and end condition establish the main dimensions. Check whether the cap is removed frequently or remains installed during normal operation. That handling requirement influences the useful grip area and acceptable fitting resistance.
Evaluate the selected formulation on the actual component after representative exposure. Inspect for changes in size, surface condition or retention. Keep the covered surface clean before refitting and avoid forcing a cap over a burr or abrupt step that was not included in the design. If several material versions share one size, maintain their identification during storage and assembly. A replacement should match the intended compound as well as the visible dimensions.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The receiving diameter, available engagement length and end condition establish the main dimensions. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
