Match the attachment and installation method
A round silicone rubber cap forms a flexible cover over a matching circular feature. The cap's inside profile and engagement depth determine how it seats; the outside diameter mainly describes the visible envelope. A cap can look symmetrical while contacting its mating part unevenly underneath.
Measure the covered feature at the area where the cap will grip, including any taper, rim, or change in diameter. Allow the cap to reach its intended depth without its top meeting an obstruction prematurely. If the closure is removed regularly, the accessible edge should permit handling without repeatedly stretching one small section.
During installation, check the full perimeter for a folded lip or a raised side. The mating surface should be clear of debris that could interrupt contact. Any required sealing performance must be assessed with the actual cap, material formulation, and covered component under their intended conditions. Inspect the inside edge after reuse for wear or a lasting change in shape, since the working surface can deteriorate while the outer face remains visually unchanged.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The cap's inside profile and engagement depth determine how it seats; the outside diameter mainly describes the visible envelope. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
