A custom Silicone Plug for food contact use should be designed for the intended cycle of fitting, removal and cleaning. The body geometry needs to provide the required closure while leaving the contact surface accessible when the plug is taken out. Deep recesses or narrow gripping transitions deserve attention where residue may collect.
Select the silicone formulation for the food or liquid, contact duration and temperature. Structure, dimensions, hardness and color can be customized around the receiving opening. Evaluate the actual assembly after the cleaning process, since both the rubber and the mating component influence the fit.
Before refitting, inspect the plug for particles, cuts and lasting distortion. Seat it in the intended orientation without forcing a contaminated surface into the opening. If repeated cleaning leaves residue in one location, consider whether the geometry or handling method prevents proper access. The finished closure should be assessed for its required storage and operating conditions. Replace damaged plugs rather than relying on extra insertion force to restore contact around a worn sealing area.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The body geometry needs to provide the required closure while leaving the contact surface accessible when the plug is taken out. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
