Butyl rubber bottle caps can be custom molded for a medical bottle closure application. The finished butyl formulation, neck geometry and handling process need to be considered together. Establish the closure's actual contact conditions and the way it is fitted within the complete bottle system before selecting the final profile.
The cap or stopper body should reach a defined seat without damaging the bottle rim or being distorted by adjacent retaining components. Check the working dimensions and insertion method using the intended bottle. Medical use also requires assessment of the finished component and process; a material name alone does not establish suitability for every medical container.
Protect the contacting surfaces during handling and assembly. Inspect for particles, cuts and unintended deformation before fitting. Any cleaning or processing method must be compatible with the chosen formulation and closure design. Keep variants separated by material and geometry so visually similar parts are not exchanged. Do not reuse a damaged closure simply because it can still be pressed into the neck.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The cap or stopper body should reach a defined seat without damaging the bottle rim or being distorted by adjacent retaining components. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
