Custom step ladder caps cover the lower rail ends where the ladder meets the ground. Their shape needs to follow the rail profile closely, including any rounded corners, channels or angled cut at the end. A cap selected only by its widest dimension can leave unsupported areas or fail to seat fully.
The installed position is particularly important on rails that meet the floor at an angle. Evaluate the ladder in its normal open configuration and confirm that the intended contact face rests properly on the surface. The cap should remain located when the ladder is lifted and repositioned, without relying on excessive stretching to hold it in place.
Material and dimensions can be customized for the intended design. Assess the finished ladder on the surfaces and under the conditions specified for its use; rubber contact alone does not establish slip resistance for every floor. Before use, look for a rolled edge, a loose cap or damage around the rail opening. A damaged rail needs attention as well as a replacement cap.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Compare inside diameter A with the outside of the part being covered. Check inside depth C and overall dimensions B and D for available clearance. These RSE references show a round cap with one closed end.
43 closed-end cap sizes. A is the inside diameter and C is the usable internal depth; B and D describe the outside envelope.

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
