Custom silicone hole plugs can be developed for openings where water control and food contact considerations both influence selection. The body profile should match the opening, while the finished silicone formulation should suit the intended contents and cleaning conditions. These requirements need to be considered together in the completed assembly.
Identify the contact surfaces that perform the closing function. A shoulder may control insertion depth while another section engages the hole. Check that the mating component supports those regions without a step, burr or trapped particle interrupting contact. Assess water exposure with the plug fitted in its working position rather than judging the closure by appearance alone.
If the plug is routinely removed for cleaning, leave enough accessible material for handling without puncturing or stretching it. Clean both the plug and the opening before refitting, and keep replacement variants matched to their specific locations. A damaged edge or a permanently changed profile should be corrected through replacement, not hidden by pushing the plug deeper. The intended seating geometry should remain recognizable after repeated use.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A shoulder may control insertion depth while another section engages the hole. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
