Selected for the contact, temperature and movement
Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
An OEM plug for hole closures should match the finished opening and the conditions around it. Where water contact is expected, the retained fit and contact boundary need evaluation in the complete assembly. A small plug can appear fully seated while an uneven edge still leaves an unintended path around it.
Develop the silicone, rubber or plastic configuration around its actual fitting method. Material choices should be evaluated separately, with dimensions and hardness where applicable matched to the opening. Include any coating or recess that changes the contact below the visible rim.
Install the closure on a clean, prepared opening and inspect its seating around the perimeter. Assess the assembly under the intended exposure rather than treating the waterproof name as an ingress rating. During removal, protect the small retaining features from cuts. If the plug repeatedly loosens, review the opening and handling loads before adding adhesive or forcing a larger part into place, since either change can alter serviceability and fit.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. Where water contact is expected, the retained fit and contact boundary need evaluation in the complete assembly. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
