Product Overview

A waterproof rubber cable grommet forms a flexible entry around a matching cable and panel. Its custom profile should provide the intended edge protection and contact needed to exclude dust or moisture. Size and compound selection belong to the complete interface rather than the rubber component alone.

Pay attention to cleanliness when the enclosure is opened for service. Dust released from surrounding parts can settle into the retaining groove or against the cable jacket. Clear accessible contamination before reseating the grommet so closing the entry does not trap material across its contact boundary.

Check the panel thickness and cable profile after any changes to wrapping or routing. The part should return to its intended position without a folded flange or a stretched center. Assess sealing with the cable supported in its working direction. During final inspection, look for a local gap where the route pulls sideways. Replace damaged rubber with the appropriate profile and compound, and correct the source of recurring displacement instead of treating repeated reseating as a permanent repair for an unsuitable entry fit.

Material options
Custom rubber compound and color, selected for the contact conditions and required geometry.
Hardness range
30–90 Shore A for rubber. Assess the grade against this fit requirement: The part should return to its intended position without a folded flange or a stretched center.
Custom profile & fit
Check the panel thickness and cable profile after any changes to wrapping or routing.
Assembly considerations
During final inspection, look for a local gap where the route pulls sideways.
Design check
Size and compound selection belong to the complete interface rather than the rubber component alone.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
