Buna-N rubber wire grommets are custom molded components for shaped openings associated with wiring. The selected profile needs to match whether the assembly requires a closed blanking center or a defined wire passage. These are different functions, and the center geometry should be established before the part is fitted.
The Buna-N compound should suit the substances and temperatures present at the entry. Material compatibility is specific to the actual conditions rather than guaranteed by the material name. The outside dimensions must also match the panel opening and its finished thickness so the retaining edges can locate correctly.
For a blanking role, keep the center intact and inspect it for damage during fitting. Where wiring passes through, use the passage intended by the component design instead of making an arbitrary cut. Remove burrs from the opening before installation, then examine the perimeter for folded sections. Check the fit again after the wiring or nearby components are secured, since the final arrangement can change the load on the rubber.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The outside dimensions must also match the panel opening and its finished thickness so the retaining edges can locate correctly. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
