Custom Oval Rubber Cable Grommets can be developed when a standard oval profile does not suit the relationship between a panel and its wiring. The range on this page provides useful starting dimensions, while structure, size, material, hardness and color can be customized for the particular entry.
Begin by identifying what actually needs to change. The cutout might be correct but the internal passage too narrow; alternatively, the cable may fit while the mounting groove is unsuitable for the wall. Keeping those differences separate avoids changing an entire profile to solve one local fit problem.
The listed 25 by 62.5 mm groove size, for example, has a 33 by 70.5 mm outer outline and a 21 by 58.5 mm opening. Comparing those measurements with the intended panel shows which surfaces are controlling the fit. Groove widths are also listed separately from overall thickness.
A custom passage should preserve sufficient rubber around the mounting area and permit a workable installation sequence. Evaluate the trial part with the actual cable covering and any connector that must pass through it. After the route is secured, inspect the ends of the oval for uneven loading. The objective is a part that seats naturally and protects the cable without needing trimming or improvised packing during assembly.
