A molded hydraulic seal must be selected for the particular hydraulic connection or mechanism in which it operates. Pressure, fluid, temperature, movement, and mating geometry are interdependent requirements. A general rubber gasket or O-ring description does not establish suitability for every hydraulic system.
Define whether the working contact is stationary or moving and identify the groove, clearance, and supporting surfaces. The selected rubber formulation must suit the actual fluid and operating cycle. Assembly needs to preserve the sealing surface as the component passes entries or other features before reaching its working position.
Evaluate the finished arrangement under its specified conditions using an appropriate system-level verification. Do not assign pressure capability from the silicone material name or the ring's appearance. During service, inspect for cuts, extrusion, and a changed cross-section, then consider the mating clearance and installation path as possible causes. Repeated seal damage may require correction to surrounding geometry or operating conditions rather than another replacement with the same nominal ring size.
