Match the attachment and installation method
A threaded hole plug needs its engagement profile to correspond with the mating opening. Contamination in that interface can make insertion feel tight before the stopper reaches its intended position. The final fit should therefore be judged from the designed seating condition, not from resistance to turning alone.
Check the thread form, available depth, and clearance around the cap. The inserted section should not meet an internal obstruction before its working contact is established. Use the intended grip or tool interface without twisting the flexible body excessively to overcome a mismatch.
Inspect the opening and plug before fitting and remove particles that could damage or interrupt contact. Any required sealing function must be evaluated on the completed connection with its selected material and exposure conditions. During removal, examine the engagement edges for tearing or a lasting change in shape. If the plug repeatedly binds at the same point, inspect the mating geometry rather than assuming additional force will improve the seal or restore proper engagement.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A threaded hole plug needs its engagement profile to correspond with the mating opening. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
