A rubber drain plug molded in silicone can use a mushroom-shaped head above an engaging stem. For a drain closure, those portions must match the opening and the surrounding seating area. The head can provide an accessible exterior surface while the stem establishes the fitted engagement within the hole.
Check the opening depth and any features beneath it before choosing the stem length. The head should reach its intended seat without being held up by an internal obstruction. Enough space should remain around it for the planned removal method, particularly where the drain sits close to another component.
For oil contact, select the precise compound around the actual fluid and temperature. Silicone is not a universal substitute for every oil-service elastomer, and a mushroom profile alone does not establish a pressure rating. Fit the plug without damaging the stem at the opening edge. During removal and refitting, inspect both the head junction and the engaging surface for tears or changed shape that could affect retention or closure.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A mushroom shape silicone hole plug has a broader head above an engaging stem. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
