Match the attachment and installation method
Silicone hole plugs close openings with a custom molded body matched to the receiving feature. The profile can be developed around the hole shape and available depth, including the portion left accessible after installation. For a part used in a warm environment, removal and inspection should be considered alongside the initial fit.
Choose the compound for the actual temperature cycle and substances at the opening. The receiving component may change its conditions during use, so an easy room-temperature insertion does not by itself establish suitability throughout operation. Keep the closure within the design limits of the complete assembly.
Fit the plug without forcing it beyond its intended depth. Leave enough accessible material for the planned removal method, and avoid levering against a thin rubber edge with a sharp tool. After the assembly has reached appropriate handling conditions, inspect the seating body for damage or permanent deformation before reuse. A clean, undamaged contact surface and a correctly matched hole remain essential when the plug is returned to service.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The profile can be developed around the hole shape and available depth, including the portion left accessible after installation. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
