Product Overview

Small silicone buttons in an automotive keypad must operate within the surrounding trim and the limited space behind it. The cap dimensions, exposed height, and underside support need to be coordinated so that a compact control remains usable when pressed from the installed approach angle.

Review the outer controls alongside the center of the layout. A trim border can obstruct an edge key even when the nominal button spacing is uniform. The board references and molded locating features should hold the sheet without stretching it to align with the apertures, particularly across a longer row of controls.

Evaluate the assembled panel for independent input and return after angled presses. Material and marking suitability should be assessed for the specific vehicle location and expected cleaning exposure. The silicone part alone does not establish a lifetime or environmental rating. When the panel is serviced, check that the sheet has returned to its intended supports before closing the housing, since a trapped edge can change operation without making the front layout look obviously incorrect.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Evaluate the assembled panel for independent input and return after angled presses.
Custom dimensions
The cap dimensions, exposed height, and underside support need to be coordinated so that a compact control remains usable when pressed from the installed approach angle.
Fit & assembly
Locate the sheet on its board references without stretching the row of controls; keep trim borders clear of the outer keys.
Use & inspection
Material and marking suitability should be assessed for the specific vehicle location and expected cleaning exposure.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
