An eyelet grommet provides a molded rubber interface around an opening. The custom profile should locate at the receiving wall while leaving the intended central passage. The visible flange and the retaining section perform different roles, so their dimensions need to be considered separately.
Measure the hole and finished wall thickness at the seating area. The central opening should suit the cable or component that passes through it without being unnecessarily stretched. Nearby hardware also needs to leave room for the retaining profile on both sides of the wall.
Clean and deburr the receiving edge before fitting the grommet. Work the rubber into position without cutting it with a tool, then inspect the full circumference. Route the passing component so it does not continually pull the eyelet sideways. During maintenance, inspect for a folded lip or worn section after wiring changes, replacing damaged rubber before the exposed opening edge can contact the jacket or adjoining component.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Nearby hardware also needs to leave room for the retaining profile on both sides of the wall. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
