Rubber caps provide a custom molded cover over an end feature, while a plug-style version closes an internal opening. The profile should be chosen for the actual receiving surface. For oil exposure, the exact compound needs to be selected before color or external appearance is finalized.
Consider the particular oil, operating temperature, and duration of contact. NBR and silicone should not be treated as interchangeable simply because they can be made in similar colors. The selected material must also suit any cleaning substances used around the closure.
Check the seating length and accessible removal area, then fit the cap onto a clean, smooth feature. Avoid stretching it excessively over an oversized end or driving a plug deeper to hide a loose fit. Inspect the rubber after use for swelling, cracks, or permanent changes in shape. The complete closure determines its sealing and retention requirements, so a material name alone does not establish an oil-proof guarantee. Replace damaged parts with the matching geometry and specified compound.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Compare inside diameter A with the outside of the part being covered. Check inside depth C and overall dimensions B and D for available clearance. These RSE references show a round cap with one closed end.
43 closed-end cap sizes. A is the inside diameter and C is the usable internal depth; B and D describe the outside envelope.

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
