Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
Custom Viton (FKM) stoppers can be shaped for an inserted closure, while cap versions are dimensioned around an outside profile. These arrangements place the rubber in contact with different surfaces. Establish the intended configuration before selecting the body, shoulder, and handling geometry.
For a plug, the opening depth and internal finish affect where the part seats. For a cap, an external bead or shoulder can stop engagement before the closed end reaches its intended position. The visible head or exterior should provide practical access without overlapping nearby components. Check the full contact region after fitting rather than judging only the appearance at the opening.
Select the FKM formulation for the actual medium, temperature, and cleaning exposure. Other available rubber types remain separate material options, even if they share a similar molded shape. Keep contact surfaces clean before installation and inspect for damage after removal. A replacement should preserve the correct material assignment and complete profile so the intended inserted or covering relationship is restored.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. For a plug, the opening depth and internal finish affect where the part seats. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
