Rubber grommets for wire protection provide a molded interface between a wire jacket and a receiving opening. The custom profile should keep the wire separated from the exposed edge while fitting the panel securely. Where movement or vibration occurs, the route and support around the entry need attention as well.
Check how the wire moves relative to the panel during normal operation. The grommet should not be expected to absorb all movement from an unsupported harness. Adequate free length and properly placed supports help keep the rubber from being continually pulled or rubbed at one side.
Match the retaining groove to the finished wall thickness and the bore to the actual wire profile. Install the part into a smooth opening and inspect it with the harness in its working position. Any specified vibration reduction belongs to the complete arrangement, not the grommet name alone. During maintenance, look for localized wear, cuts, or displacement and correct the routing issue before installing a replacement with the required dimensions and compound.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The custom profile should keep the wire separated from the exposed edge while fitting the panel securely. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
